GOVERNMENTS exacerbates racial thinking and undermines INDIVIDUALISM because its very existence encourages people to organize along racial lines in order to lobby for benefits for

THEIR GROUP.

That LOBBYING, in turn creates animosity and suspicion among all groups, each of which believes that it is getting LESS of its FAIR SHARE than the OTHERS.

INSTEAD, we should quit thinking in terms of RACE - YES. in 2008 it is still necessary to say that we should STOP THINKING in terms of RACE - and recognize that FREEDOM and PROSPERITY benefit all Americans.  As Thomas Sowell points out, LOBBYISTS for various RACIAL GROUPS will spend all their time trying to enact programs that specifically HELP THEIR GROUP, even though that group would reap far more benefit from advancing ECONOMIC FREEDOM in general.

[We have looked at every statement in Ron Paul's 173 page Declaration of Common Sense and we find that we are in complete agreement with him on ALL the issues he has raised. His staggering success in the USA  has meant that he is constantly before the MEDIA as the principled opponent of the YES! brigade who question little and ignore THEIR CONSTITUTION as we find happens in ENGLAND in 2009 where  they have gone one step further and the GANG OF THREE in PARLIAMENT have sold THEIR CONSTITUTION and THEIR COUNTRY to a FOREIGN POWER.  Apart from a few GOOD MEN and WOMEN the majority should find themselves out on the street after the coming elections. Freedom From Government

 

President Obama signed an executive order last week continuing the faith-based initiatives program created by former President Bush.  When the program was created, I warned that giving taxpayer money to private religious organizations would eventually lead to political control and manipulation of them.  This week has provided some evidence that this was a justified concern. 

The logic behind funding faith-based initiatives seemed reasonable to some.  Private organizations are much more effective in charitable endeavors than government programs and bureaucracies.  Therefore, why not “outsource” some of the government’s welfare-state activities to these worthy organizations?  This appealed to many conservatives, especially after the follow-up executive order exempting recipients from discriminatory hiring laws, which assured many that taking federal funds would not jeopardize their control over their own operations.  But beware the government program started under an administration you like, for it may look a lot different under the one you don’t.   Exemptions that Bush gave, Obama can take away. 

But now, dependencies on federal money have been set, operations have been expanded accordingly, and many charities are waiting breathlessly for the administration to tell them what new conditions they will have to meet.  With the stroke of a pen, religious charities might not be able to take into consideration a job applicant’s faith, sexual orientation or lifestyle if they wish to remain eligible for that taxpayer money that was so enticing a few years ago.  Similarly, if FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act) is passed, will Catholic Church hospitals be forced to offer abortion services to retain their federal funding?  Can they remain solvent without it? 

This is the major problem with basing a private business model on the receipt of government funds.  This money does not come without control, or the future possibility of control.  We are seeing parallel control grabs in industries that have recently been the recipients of taxpayer largess.  Government officials are now discussing executive compensation on Wall Street, banking, and in the auto industry.  How much is too much to pay someone?  When is a bonus deserved?  But because politicians have bought their way into these industries, these are now political decisions.  It is easy to utilize class envy to whip up public support for these interventions, but government always slides down the slippery slope.   Politicians are also discussing other aspects of these businesses in which they are not expert, such as, what should lending standards be?  What sort of cars should we direct the auto industry to make?  Once government money infiltrates a balance sheet, “taxpayers” meaning “politicians” have a say in how you operate.

Money is the Trojan horse that government uses to infiltrate and infect organizations.  Funding that, on the outset, is designed to strengthen and support, will bureaucratize and regulate in the end.  It is sad to see charities now having reason to focus on lobbying, regulatory compliance and paper pushing to get and retain money taken by force, rather than beefing up private, voluntary fundraising activities. 

 Those tempted to join Washington’s ongoing bailout bonanza should instead take the famed advice of former First Lady Nancy Reagan on the acceptance of harmful and addictive substances and

 “Just Say No” to government money. 

 This is the best protection from government control.

It is in the interest of the Bilderbergers/New World Order elite to have the worst DEPRESSION ever as in those circumstances they have the excuse to tighten the stranglehold over the people with more regulation which will enable them to fill the concentration camps they have already built across the USA, and possibly no doubt in England?

As we have stated previously at least in America their nation-wide TV stations are at least discussing the matter, whereas in England there is a BLACKOUT.

WE have over this side of the Atlantic many Bilderbergers within our society but particularly in PARLIAMENT. Just to name a few:  Kenneth Clarke-George Osborne-Douglas Hurd-Tony Blair-Gordon Brown-Peter Mandelson -Paddy Ashdown and others   including the Governor of the Bank of England-Mervyn King and many others across the social and political spectrum.

GM, Amtrak and an Increasingly Fascist America

Last week, General Motors finally declared bankruptcy.  Many in government thought $20 billion in taxpayer dollars would save the company, but as predicted, it only postponed the inevitable.  The government will dump another $30 billion into GM and take a 60 percent controlling interest for it.  Public officials are now involving themselves in tactical business decisions such as where GM’s headquarters should move and what kind of cars it will build.

The promise that this is temporary and will eventually be profitable is supposed to ease the American people into accepting this arrangement, but it is of little comfort to those who remember similar promises when the American taxpayers bought Amtrak.  After three years, government was supposed to be out of the passenger rail business.  40 years and billions of dollars later, the government is still operating Amtrak at a loss, despite the fact that they have created a monopoly by making it illegal to compete with Amtrak.  Imagine what they can now do to what is left of the great American auto industry!

In a truly free market, GM would get your money one way and one way only – by selling you a car you want, at a price you are willing to pay.  Instead, the government is giving public money to a private company in spite of the market signals it has been sending.  Throwing money at GM does not stop it from being an engine of wealth destruction; on the contrary, it simply gives it more wealth to destroy.

Had it been allowed to fail naturally, the profitable pieces of GM would have been bought up and put to good use by now.  The laid off employees would likely have found new jobs and all that capital would be in private hands, reinvested in companies that produce products demanded by consumers.  Instead, we are all poorer now. 

Political pressure, rather than the rule of law, is deciding how to divide up the remains of GM.  The bondholders had billions in retirement savings invested in the company, and though they were entitled to nearly three times as much as the United Auto Workers, the bondholders were left with just a 10 percent stake compared to the union’s 17.5 percent stake.   For their 60 percent stake, taxpayers have a future of constant bailouts to look forward to.

Comingling public control of private business is known as fascism.  While today’s politicians may feel emboldened with all their new power, history will only repeat itself as all this collapses on itself.  It is the height of hubris for bureaucrats and politicians to attempt to control the market and the freewill of the American people.  In the end, the market always wins out.  Maybe one day future generations will wise up and allow free markets to function and thrive without the albatross of government around its neck.  For now, it looks like those in charge have not learned the lessons of the past, and have doomed us to repeat those mistakes once again.

Last week I was very pleased that hearings were held on the independence of the Federal Reserve system.  My bill HR 1207, known as the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, was discussed at length, as well as the general question of whether or not the Federal Reserve should continue to operate independently.

The public is demanding transparency in government like never before.  A majority of the House has cosponsored HR 1207.  Yet, Senator Jim DeMint’s heroic efforts to attach it to another piece of legislation elicited intense opposition by the Senate leadership. 

The hearings on Capitol Hill provided us with a great deal of information about the types of arguments that will be levied against meaningful transparency and how the secretive central bankers will defend the status quo that is so beneficial to them.

Claims are made that auditing the Fed would compromise its independence.  However, by independence, they really mean secrecy.  The Fed clearly cherishes its vast power to create and spend trillions of dollars, diluting the value of every other dollar in circulation, making deals with other central banks, and bailing out cronies, all to the detriment of the taxpayer, and to the enrichment of themselves.  I am happy to challenge this type of “independence”.

They claim the Fed is endowed with special intellectual abilities with which to control the market and that central bankers magically know what the market needs.  We should just trust them.  This is patently ridiculous.  The market is a complex and intricate thing.  No one knows what the market needs other than the market itself.  It sends signals, such as prices, that should be reacted to and respected, not thwarted and controlled.  Bankers are not all-knowing and cannot ignore the rules of supply and demand.  They might act as if they are, but their manipulation of the market just ends up throwing it wildly off balance, which gives us the boom and bust cycles.

They claim the Fed must remain apolitical.  No organization is apolitical that relies on the President to appoint the Chairman.  In fact, it is subject to the worst sort of politics – power to create trillions of dollars and affect the value of every dollar in the country without the accountability of direct elections or meaningful oversight!  The Fed typically enacts monetary policy that is favorable to particular administrations close to elections, to the detriment of long term considerations.  They do this partly because of the political appointee process for the Chairmanship.

The only accountability the Federal Reserve has is ultimately to Congress, which granted its charter and can revoke it at any time.  It is Congress’s constitutional duty to protect the value of the money, and they have abdicated this responsibility for far too long.  This was the issue that got me involved in politics 35 years ago.  It is very encouraging to finally see the issue getting some needed exposure and traction.  It is regrettable that it took a crisis of this magnitude to get a serious debate on this issue.

[THE FALSE PROPHETS OF THE  NEW WORLD ORDER & WORLD GOVERNMENT CANNOT ACHIEVE THEIR AIM IF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK LOSES IT'S INDEPENDENCE FROM CONTROL OF THE  INTERNATIONAL BANKERS    WITH THEIR MANY CENTRAL BANKS ACROSS THE WORLD. On Wednesday July 22,2009 the Daily Telegraph closes the circle with the devastating news of the UK debt payments to double by 2013 .This is because central banks print money out of thin air and charge the Government -the Taxpayer- with monster profits to the International Bankers. Money issued by only a Government would be interest free and no crippling compound interest and further added interest on that debt etc-etc-etc to enslavement of the taxpayer and loss of economic and political FREEDOM.See Here

Because we have in the Shadow Cabinet members of the NEW WORLD ORDER and for WORLD GOVERNMENT with a reduction in the world's population of at least 5 BILLION-  such as Kenneth Clarke-George Osborne- William Hague and others matched by Gordon Brown-Ed Balls and Peter Mandelson  and others in the Government with Mervyn King the present Governor of the Bank of England.  Central Banks world wide are making the recession deeper because the more GOVERNMENTS BORROW the more PROFIT the LENDERS will MAKE.   It has been stated throughout history that to CONTROL the MONEY SUPPLY is to CONTROL POLITICS and  GOVERNMENT . Gordon Brown or Parliament do not run the UK but the INTERNATIONAL BANKERS. So let us stop the charade.  In the USA there are 300 large extensive concentration camps many with facilities to gas the occupants which will be brought into being should a PRETENCE for MARSHAL LAW be introduced. At present American citizens are being phoned at home to ask if they have had their swine flue jabs and officials dressed in blue uniforms are arriving at the door to inoculate the occupants and should the FEME LAW be introduced the people will either have to be inoculated on the doorstep or taken to one of the camps. In parts of the US there are stockpiles of over 500,000  large plastic coffins capable of holding a number of bodies and requests have been made for burial plots to hold hundreds of thousands and at different locations in the country there are FOREIGN TROOPS including BRITISH-CHINESE and other EUROPEAN FORCES who are there to take over COMMAND of the DETENTION CENTRES or a better description would be CONCENTRATION CAMPS.   If the FREE PRESS? in the UK will prove these allegations FALSE and that no such PLANS are in place in the UK we shall be very pleased and will remove this statement IMMEDIATELY from our FRONT PAGE.. While in this country we  are discussing the ECONOMY in the USA they are discussing SURVIVAL of a greater part of the POPULATION from the SECRET and TOTALITARIAN intentions of their NEW WORLD ORDER  DICTATORS. The Immorality of Taxpayer Funded Abortion

 

Healthcare continues to dominate the agenda on Capitol Hill as House leadership and the administration try to ram through their big government healthcare plan.  Fortunately, they have been unsuccessful so far, as there are many horrifying provisions tucked into this massive piece of legislation.  One major issue is the public funding of elective abortions.  The administration has already removed many longstanding restrictions on abortion, and is unwilling to provide straight answers to questions regarding the public funding of abortion in their plan.  This is deeply troubling for those of us who do not want taxpayer dollars funding abortions.

Forcing pro-life taxpayers to subsidize abortion is evil and tyrannical.  I have introduced the Taxpayer’s Freedom of Conscience Act (HR 1233) which forbids the use of any taxpayer funds for abortion, both here and overseas. 

The most basic function of government is to protect life.  It is unconscionable that government would enable the taking of it.  However this is to be expected when government oversteps its constitutional bounds instead of protecting rights.  When government supercedes this very limited role, it cannot help but advance the moral agenda of whoever is in power at the time, at the expense of the rights of others.

Free people should be left alone to follow their conscience and determine their own lifestyle as long as they do not interfere with other people doing the same.  If morality is dictated by government, morality will change with every election.  Even if you agree with the morality of the current politicians and think their ideas should be advanced, someday different people will inherit that power and use it for their own agendas.  The wisdom of the constitution is that it keeps government out of these issues altogether. 

Many say we must reform healthcare and treat it as a right, because that is the moral thing to do.  Poor people should not go without healthcare in a just society.  But too many forget the immorality of stealing from others in order to make this so.  They also forget the morality and compassion that naturally exists in communities when government is not fomenting class warfare with wealth redistribution programs.   

Many doctors willingly volunteer, accept barter or reduced payment from patients who can’t pay, or give away services for free.  Many charities help the poor with food, housing and healthcare.  These charities are much more responsive and accountable for helping people in need than government ever could be.  This is the moral way that private individuals voluntarily deal with access to healthcare, but government intervention threatens to pull the rug out from this sort of volunteerism and replace it with mandates, taxes, red tape, wealth redistribution, and force.

The fact that the national healthcare overhaul could force taxpayers to subsidize abortions and may even force private insurers to cover abortions is more reason that this bill and the ideas behind it, are neither constitutional, moral, nor in the American people’s best interest.

What about the rights of physicians who don't want to perform abortions?

Has anyone looked at the Mexican healthcare model, where residents make up the staff? Other doctors are available. Anyone can go to them if they can afford it, and if not, they go to Public Health.

There is something quite disturbing and wrong with our governmnet. This same sickness as kept spreading from administration to administration. When people actually clean up the government the better off we will be. To be as so cruel to go against ones belief against abortion and then make them pay on top of it for here in the states and over seas is SICK and monsterous!

Those reading should recall that DR Paul has been an
OB/GYN who delivered thousands of babies, yet NEVER found it medically necessary to take the life of one.

Not only is abortion and the evil and immorality of it a horrible role of government, but the further erosion of the care of the elderly, included in the so called healthcare legislation, issues of grave concern for all of us. It's amazing that a society can condone the killing of it's unborn and then add to it the killing of it's elderly via witholding care because of your value to society.
I would sure like to see the lawmakers subject to the same healthcare program.

I will not pay the US Gov tax money that is going to murder unborns. They can put me in jail, but I will not!! If a person wants to kill their unborn, I feel that is their business on their own dime, but it is not my place that I have to sponsor such an (in my mind)an immoral act!

Dr. Paul, I'm a big supporter of you and the Constitution but I don't like that you used Abortion to take a jab at Healthcare Reform.
Charters and charitable doctors will still exist, like a free-market sans bailouts, if there is Healthcare Reform.
The only reason a private insurer would cry foul is because they know with everyone going with the government plan they would lose money by having to play fair with their policies in order to compete with it, and if the Reform subsidizes abortion than I'm sure they would indeed feel compelled to include that in their policies as well, the dogs.
I'm sure, as a Doctor, that you realize there are plenty of other procedures just as controversial as abortion that would be covered with the same taxes. I, for one, wouldn't like the idea of my tax dollars going towards a gunshot victim who had been shot invading someone's home. But, I realize that the police and fire departments are paid for in the same way and my tax dollars paid the salary of the officer who shot Oscar Grant in the back here in Oakland.
These are moral issues, sure, but it's shocking to me that you'd look at Healthcare so narrowly as to focus your moral opposition to abortion on it as a whole instead of something like sex education or the health of the millions and millions of Americans who don't share your views on Abortion.
There are certainly those who don't share your views on religion but lucky you can not only choose which religion to believe you can also practice it freely. Would that women could say the same about what they do with their own bodies.

I personally believe that any woman who wants an abortion should be given one - at public expense if she is unable to pay.
An unplanned pregnancy usually means an unwanted child. And the majority of unwanted children are born to women on welfare which means the child will add to welfare expense maybe for life.
So, from a purely economic standpoint it would be cheaper for the taxpayer to grant the woman her abortion.
As for the moral issue: That is strictly between the woman and her God. Nobody else has status to decide.

I fully agree with you that the government should not be in charge of our health care. The decisions should be made by the doctor/patient only. I also do not want any illegal aliens receiving health care I have to pay for in the end.

Hello Rep Paul,

On more occasions than one, I have seen you refer to abortion as an immoral activity. In a future post, could you elaborate on why you consider abortion immoral?

As someone who was raised in an environment that still keeps flirting with communism, and whose thinking has been deeply affected by libertarian ideals, largely as a result of your writings, I want to hear how a woman choosing to abort her baby is in conflict with individual liberty.

I have heard both liberals and conservations rant plenty on this topic, but I want the libertarian viewpoint elaborated upon.

Congressman Ron Paul, stay well, as we need your sane voice. Please keep on fighting for our Constitution, as there are far too few on Capitol Hill or in the White House that are doing their sworn duty to 'protect the Constitution both here and abroad.' There is nowhere in that Constitution that says my taxes must be used to pay for Abortions in the womb or for the killing of innocents in unnecessary and unjustified War. I am all for keeping our Military At Home guarding our own doorstep..and using the money now spent on warmongering to help the poor, the sick, as well as the aged that desperately need and deserve a helping hand. Just not for the taking of human life..at any stage of life.

Ron Paul has never given birth to my knowledge. If the government, after forcing a woman to bear a child, offered to sustain and educate it, it still wouldn't make it the more brutal of the two choices: killing an infant before it's an infant, or forcing a woman to bear a child she doesn't want or whose birth might injure her. Lions and bears eat their young; spiders murder their husbands. Morality is where you find it. I'd rather pay for an abortion than the birth of a child, if it's the old dollars and cents issue. If it's dollars and SENSE; each woman has the right to choose. If she receives public medicine; she does, for every medical need. Personally, since there seems to be no shortage of unwanted children around, usually making trouble;I'm more concerned about the exclusion of TEETH from public medicine in Ca.

Why is it immoral to pay for an abortion and patriotic to build every sort of killing device possible? The first event is an unfortunate outcome to an unplanned activity. The second is cold blooded and deliberate. It is preparation for killing of mass numbers of people, whom we have no evidence what-so-ever of having done anything to harm us. The first event is a medical procedure. The second is murder. I have tried to find common cause with you Dr. Paul, but more and more I think you're just as whacko as the rest of the Republican loonies in the zoo.

Please add all forms of murder / killing the government pays for like the death penalty, and fighting in undeclared wars (THIS INCLUDES ALL PREEMPTIVE STRIKES LIKE IRAQ).

Being able to do it and forcing people who are morally opposed to it are two different things as Mr. Ron Paul eloquently addresses in his article.

Also as Ron Paul addresses any power we give the government no matter it's best intentions can later be exploited for personal power and financial gain.

The Constitution is correct to remove the government from a position of power.. it exists to serve the people, not the people to serve it. We have lost that distinction a long time ago. Now people are afraid of the juggernaut that their money employs.

I support you Ron Paul 100%. Providing education is the only way to rid of this mess.. if you follow history the Revolutionary war was fueled by the free media and the free press, but now neither are free.

It was a stroke of brilliance for the powers that be to take out our communications (media), now they are gunning for the Internet. May it never be.

May I, a practicing surgeon, respond to those comments that question the opinion that abortion is immoral? It is because we believe that the destruction of human life is immoral. An unborn baby is not a fish or a kitten. It is alive, moves and has a heart beat. It's genetic make up is human as were it's parents. Lions and bears are beasts. If humans have an immortal soul then I think that an unborn baby has one also.

The people who think that "unwanted children" would end up on welfare haven't invested very much time understanding our system. Most babies to welfare recipients are wanted, because they mean more money will come into the household. That's why so many welfare families are large ones. When a child reaches 18 and no longer counts as a dependent, there are more children under age 18 to make up the difference. For welfare children, the government is in fact paying to educate and support them. If a woman has a right to her own body, then she should take the responsibility for making the decision to get pregnant. Rights and responsibilities go hand-in-hand, and cannot be conveniently separated. Abortion is murder for convenience; war is killing for security of our nation. There is a big difference. The first is not in the government's (or society's) best interest; the second is in the government's (and the nation's) best interests. If we condone killing babies for convenience, then killing old people can't be far behind. And indeed if you study the current Health Care bill, you will come to the same conclusion. I oppose the Health Care reform bill on many levels -- in a nutshell, it is the closest thing to Hitler's Germany that we have yet seen since the 1930s. Study your history, and you will see how Hitler gradually gained the "legal" ability to exterminate millions of people. Dr. Paul, thank you for your opposition to this bill -- as well as your opposition to government-funded abortion.

I disagree!

Isn’t it happening now the people are paying for healthcare for other people? Who do you suppose pays for the people who go to hospitals and get taken care of who don’t have insurance; the people who do. Look at the illegal aliens which come across the border from Mexico, they come and get free care and it drives up the cost for the ones who have healthcare. There is no free ride there either.

Then let’s look at what Ron Paul said earlier about the churches taking a row in helping the poor and unfortunate. There where a lot of stories and even a few movies which after the fact show the horror of what the Churches and clergy did to those poor people which they were in care of. Worst was the horror stories of what happened to the young girls and boys. What are you going to do create a government appointed committee to over see that there are no abuses? Why not just have a government insurance program then and forget all the run–a-round in the first place. Truth is if insurance companies and the politicians wouldn’t have took advantage of their policyholders/voters the government would have to fix anything. Greed and power is why we are here in the first place and the politicians on both sides of the aisles took the insurance and chemical companies money and fail to protect their constituents. The very same thing that happen when the Churches were in charge!

And for those whom are appalled about being forced to pay for abortions I feel your pain! NO, I really do! I don’t want people to be forced to abort children because government agents declare one not fit or unable to care for a child. God knows I don’t feel some government personnel are fit to care for the people they are voted to take care of, but I won’t take their right to be there away from them.

But how would these people feel about leaving those very same children they would protect from abortion helping to bring them into a world without healthcare? There is an old saying; “if you save a life you are in part responsible for that live”.

I think it is time for healthcare for all, “Single payer healthcare”. Otherwise you’re part of abortion anyway, be it late life abortion. You limit you view of abortion to the fetus when letting any person die because of lack of medical prevention is letting a life be aborted.

Quit your squabbling or how much money you’ll lose or have to pay out and realize that real humane peoples and cultures take care of their peoples. And Great cultures protect all peoples of every race! Fight to get abortion out of this bill, but also fight to get greed and corruption out of our healthcare system!

What about page 425 of the Health Care bill where it states all seniors must have counseling every 5 years to help them decide how they can kill themselves to save money for healthier seniors.

I'm sorry Dr. Paul, but this is one stance that you have left me on. While I admire your ability to adhere to the strictest of morals and political ideologies, I wish you would bend here. Abortion is a problem morally and logically that will never go away until we can make unwanted pregnancies extinct. Health care reform is something this country needs more than anything. I'm sure that your vision of health care reform is very different than the current motions in Washington. But why you chose abortion as your dialogue could only be perceived as pandering.

We object and our supposed representivites keep marching on with their agendas and pass one illegal law after another. This new plan "health care" is not about what it says it is nor is it constititional or even represents all Americans, What about all the natural health, and preventive plans people use, it is growing leaps and bounds and is giving pharma. companies real competetion and also has it escaped anyone's notice that more and more money gets donated, goes into manageing cancer the Allopathic way and more people die every year from their cancer management program. check the statics! Where is the health education prevention and real freedom health plan?

Our Congressmen and Senators have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. Tragically, much of the legislation that congress passes is unconstitutional.Maybe we have lost site of our basic principles of this country. The Constitution authorizes the Federal Government to protect our God-given rights and to provide for the common defense. If does not authorize the Fed to provide foreign aid handouts, abortions, unemployment benefits.subsidized housing units, food stamps. agricultural price support, health insurance, or other share-the-wealth schemes.

I am pro choice and at the same time anti abortion. I believe a woman should have the right to choose, but I would encourage her to choose life for her child if she can find a way. Certainly the taxpayer should not be forced to foot the bill for an abortion. Charitable individuals have the freedom and the opportunity to offer pregnant women alternatives to abortion, or support through the procedure if that is their focus.
Moral development is not a function of a persons religious belief. Moral development occurs when members of our society think about and discuss this kind of moral dilemma. Discussion of all sides of a moral issue allow the development of ideas and insights that can contribute to the resolution of moral issues in ways that will best serve the community over time.
Violence against physicians or others involved in assisting with legal abortions is domestic terrorism and cannot be tolerated in a country claiming to be civilized. Being violently anti choice is not the same as being pro life.
I'm all for reforming healthcare, but any reform should honor the constitution, which is the foundation of freedom in the USA. I hope that Dr. Paul can continue to promote debate on these issues, while offering his keen insight based on his experience as a physician, and his expertise as a politician who supports the constitution of the USA.

The Honerable Ron Paul has touched on a subject that many people seem to be unaware of and that is the word concience..it seems most of the politicians have such a big ego, they forget the meaning of the word..and he is right about some Drs. working with folks who are willing to pay for services in payments, because this is a personal experience I have had, my GYN. was compassionate enough to allow me to do this..it was even his suggestion..He and I never had a problem with this and my bill got paid in payments and everything worked out fine,,and He is still my GYN, and I am grateful for his services..it lead to a deeper , trusting relationship with my Dr.It also cut out the middle man, which made my cost more affordable. I have written emails to my local reps. stating my opinions on my disapointment with the new adminisrtaions proposals..and I will continue to do so..hopefully if enough of us keep it up things will sart to change. Thank you Ron Paul for teaching us ..we sure do need you.

I am in agreement with the Honorable Ron Paul concerning tax payer funded abortion..I have never went through that, I am not judging any one who may have , but it is past time we come to an understanding that there are so many more avenues than abortion..I pray about it,,and send my prayers to help Ron Paul to help him get through to those who oppose him on such simple and honerable matters.

It saddens me to know that my hero has it all wrong on abortion. A medical procedure pure and simple. A moral issue for the pregnant and their families, not the government, not politicians, not the law. Aborting the REAL lives of innocent men, women, and children in Iraq IS immoral and illegal. As it should be. American taxpayers continue to pay for THAT! My conscience is clear...I DON'T PAY the illegal income tax!

Does anyone of you know what is entailed in an abortion? It's a particularly horrific way to commit murder. First a saline solution is injected into the womb to burn and suffocate the baby to death. Then the "mother" is set on a toilet to reject the baby into. Or the baby is partially birthed and the brains sucked out with a hypo. Abortion is just legalized serial murder and it's a horrific crime on the terminated child.

Just in the Spartan society, terminating a new born may become common practice to keep the medical industry from becoming overloaded and to "save" money for the system because the DNA test ran on every new born showed a potential for a future medical expensive, chronic problem.

Lets face it. If euthanasia is good for the system when dealing with the old, why not head it off at the pass and nip it in the bud by murdering a new born with the potential of a major medical problem?

The Communists running the government now don't care about you or yours unless you or yours are a major contributor or they stand to get a major "kick-back" from your company because a lot of government money was sent your way.

It doesn't matter how altruistic your intentions seem. If you force them on someone, they are evil. The ultimate evil is when it causes harm.

I don't even know why my eyes bugged out of my head when I read your article today Congressman Paul. It is horrendous to even think that my tax dollars could potentially support something I am against!! Government is going way too far now. No wonder they are trying to push the whole thing through without giving Congress a chance to read the legislature and present it to the American public. When is this madness going to stop?
