DID YOU KNOW?
NO 4-
National
Interest
Always anxious to play its part
eurofacts is keen to point out to the
obvious truth that a genuinely
EUROSCEPTIC GOVERNMENT
will find it easier to find CUTS than
a
EUROPHILE ONE
for the simple reason that many EU
programmes are
HUGELY EXPENSIVE -UNNECESSARY
-at least when judged from the
perspective of the
BRITISH NATIONAL INTEREST
as well as unpopular with the voter.
Who would lament the passing of
Regional Development Agencies
and with them what remains of the
notion of a
EUROPE of the REGIONS.
Apart from John Prescott, almost no
one.
The RDAs in which £15
BILLION of TAX-PAYER'S MONEY has so far been
spent are a byword for
EXCESS and INEFFICIENCY.
They should follow
REGIONAL ASSEMBLES
onto the scrap heap of history.
The Taxpayer's Alliance has
calculated that their
2009-2010 BUDGET
of
£2.19
BILLION
would
be sufficient to finance a four pence
reduction in the
SMALL
BUSINESS RATE or CORPORATION TAX
[And
no doubt help to SAVE REAL JOBS.]
