Pontius Portillo
BIAS IN THE BBC
WHEN asked whether he had voted
for his fellow Tory Boris Johnson to be London
mayor, the former Cabinet minister Michael Portillo
refused to answer . It is natural to infer
from this uncharacteristic silence THAT HE DID NOT,
and that Portillo can no longer seriously be
regarded as a Conservative. Of course, this is
entirely a matter for him. However, this new
position raises an important question concerning his
status as a regular BBC commentator. He is
used on current affairs programmes as a Conservative
for purposes of 'balance' -
BUT THE TRUTH IS HE IS NOTHING OF
THE SORT.
(PETER OBORNE-Daily Mail-Saturday,
May 10, 2008)
[Well! we have always wondered if
Michael Portillo was joined at the hip to Ms Abbot - and as for being a TRUE CONSERVATIVE there
are to our knowledge but few such
specimens in the so-called party of that dishonoured and perjured name. AS they say he may
have fooled some of the people but certainly NOT THE
MAJORITY]

THE LAST RESORT OF
A POLITICIAN...
Jack Straw's got a damn cheek.
In the Mail this week he was banging the drum for St
George's DAY and parroting the line about'
reclaiming' from the Far Right.
It doesn't seem to have occurred
to Jolly Jack that people like him are the reason
there has been a resurgence of interest in St George
and flirtation with parties like the BNP...

GORDON BROWN GAVE AWAY £7
BILLION
OF EU REBATE FOR NOTHING!
GORDON BROWN'S hopes of reforming [CAP]
Europe's system of farm subsidies are fading under
resistance from BRUSSELS.
The European Commission will today
unveil proposals to shake up the
Common Agricultural Policy
But they will be watered down
version of an earlier draft drawn up with British
backing.
The change comes after most European Agricultural
Ministers opposed
BRITISH DEMANDS
to reduce the subsidies, which pay farmers billions
for NOT cultivating their land.
Campaigners said the Government had been hoodwinked
when it agreed to hand back part of its REBATE in
RETURN for a REVIEW of the CAP.
