The Iron lady and the ‘Ides of March’

 

The Daily Mail’s tribute to Mrs. Thatcher on the 3rd of May 2004 by Simon Heffer on the 25th anniversary of her accession to Prime Minister was a momentous event which could not be forgotten and neither her timely house-keeping on behalf of our nation.

 

The major regret for many euro-sceptics was that the Iron lady did not resign on the most important and controversial issue of preserving our nationhood before the ‘Ides of March’ assassination.

 

But in defending our far -flung territory of the Falklands –this victory will always inspire future generations who wanted evidence that we were still then a brave Island People who knew how to defend their interests world-wide.

No one who lived through the winter of 1979 – the aptly named Winter of Discontent – will ever forget it. It had long seemed that the Trade Unions ran our country, and that the Government, irrespective of party, was powerless to stop them.

 

The events of that winter, when Britain literally ground to a halt through industrial action, served merely to formalise the arrangement.

 

The 1970s are the first decade I can remember from start to finish I was nine when they began and 19 when it ended.  They were ushered in as a ‘decade of progress’, where technology would liberate us from inefficiency and poverty.

 

Instead by the time the Labour Government lost a vote of confidence at the end of March 1979, and was forced to call an election for May 3, we had suffered almost ten years of defeat, disappointment, humiliation and decline.

 

It was a ghastly demoralising decade and the idea of entrusting the Labour Government of Jim Callaghan with another four or five years of compromise ignorance and bungling was unthinkable.

 

On the other hand the Tories promised a reduction in the power of the state, the liberation of our economy and the taming of the trade unions.

 

It was not just Labour that had to go, but the whole post-war consensus – one that divided up control between the state or organised labour, with the private individual or business a mere footnote. Enough was enough.

 

So, almost exactly 25 years ago, on the morning of May 4, the Conservatives were returned with a majority of 43 and we had our first woman Prime Minster.

 

At that stage it was a testament not to the vision and greatness of Margaret Thatcher, but to the extent of the catastrophe that the country had just suffered that the people could so resolutely elect someone so radical.  WE needed a revolution, [Like we do today] and we soon had one.

 

The fact that Mrs. Thatcher today remains a women about whom it seems impossible to be neutral is just one sign of the enormity of what she did.

 

For my part, I am in no doubt that without her, our country would have been beggared and the subsequent revolution that liberated Eastern Europe from the Soviet yoke would have been delayed indefinitely.

 

The key to her success, however, began at the lowest level.  She sought first to transform the lives of individuals.

 

Her critics point to the army of unemployment that grew during the first term of her premiership, as uneconomic concerns went out of business.  There was, I accept undeniable hardship for millions.  But by making the economy more flexible, the Government created more opportunities and eventually brought the jobless total down.

 

The restructuring of the economy was essential if Britain was to complete in an emerging free-market economy.  As a result, many millions saw their existences improved out of recognition.  The right to buy your council house expanded the property-owning classes to include those who had never dreamed of being a part of them.

 

Whole estates were transformed as people took pride in their ownership.  It was a crucial experiment in expanding self- reliance and reducing the role of the state, [As we wish to happen today] and it worked brilliantly.

 

Even more crucially, the Thatcher Government sought to extend personal liberty in two fundamental ways: by cutting taxation and by removing the legal immunities of the trade unions, ensuring that the democratically elected Government was, indeed allowed to govern.  Without these two policies, the growth of wealth and the improvement in living standards that were essential to Thatcherism would never have been possible.

 

 

She put money back into people’s pockets. With wealth they could make choices that, for years the state had made for them.  The productive sectors of the economy flourished: we discovered’ the enterprise economy’.

 

As businesses grew, they took on more staff and the high unemployment caused by the clean out of the old industries began to fall. The more taxes were cut, the more incentive there was to earn and more cash there was to invest.

 

The brain drain of the 1970s, caused by penal rates of taxation (as high as 98 per cent on so-called ‘unearned’ income from dividends), ended.  It is now often forgotten that there were big investments in the public services during the 1980s, and these were possible only because of the growth in the economy.

 

What industry most needed was the removal of the power of trades unions to hold employers, and the country, to ransom. Mrs. Thatcher had seen Ted Heath, her predecessor as Conservative leader, felled by the miners’ strike of 1973-74.  She had seen Jim Callaghan emasculated by the public sector unions in the Winter of Discontent.

 

She knew that power cuts, unburied dead in mortuaries, or uncollected rubbish spewing out of skips in rat-infested streets, would be blamed on the Government. Her laws restricting the powers of the unions, notably by making it illegal to call a strike without a ballot and by banning secondary and 'flying’ pickets, passed with great popular approval.

 

It was inevitable that a union would try to take her on. With equal inevitability, it was the miners.  But she was ready for them. Coal had been stockpiled at power stations; this time there were no power cuts.

 

For a year, the strike staggered on, becoming a brutal contest to see, who would blink first. Unfortunately for the miners’ union leader Arthur Scargill, Mrs. Thatcher never blinked.

The defeat of the National Union of Mineworkers marked a turning point in our economic history. It settled once and for all that management has the right to manage.  The British disease of industrial action was cured. If the union reform was the centrepiece of her first term, privatisation took centre stage in the second.

 

Next to the sale of council houses, this was the reform that perhaps meant most to, and most substantially improved the lives of, the British public.

 

In the 70s it was not uncommon to wait six months for a telephone to be installed. The power industry was inefficient, expensive and desperately short of funds for investment.

 

In other, smaller, industries nationalisation had been undertaken for no economic purpose other than to guarantee a public financial subsidy for businesses that would not otherwise survive.

 

This swindle on the taxpayer at last came to an end. Suddenly, you could have a telephone the following day. The flexibility of the privatised industry allowed it to exploit the new developments in technology that arrived in the 1980s and to make them available to their customers as a means of cheaper and more effective communications.

 

Cheaper and more efficient power supplies allowed businesses to make higher returns on investments.

 

Above all, the principle of ownership was extended to those who for the first time in their lives had a share portfolio.

 

It was not a redistribution of wealth such as Labour had so debilitatingly attempted, but a creation of more wealth for those prepared to work for it.

 It was the establishment of a true meritocracy. Men who, in the 1960s or 1970s, would literally have been barrow boys started to hold down highly paid jobs as traders in the City of London.

 

It no longer mattered whether you had the old school tie, or if you had the ‘right’ university.  All that mattered was your ability and enterprise.  Thatcherism became a great leveller than socialism had ever been.

 

Those who hated her advancement of capitalism still say it was about ‘greed’, and cite (out of context) her view that there was ‘no such thing as society’. That statement was not about the redundancy of compassion, or the neglect of social responsibility.  It was about the importance of individuals.

 

It was the central ideological point of Thatcherism: for if individuals do not motivate and provide for themselves and their families, the state will fill the vacuum.  Liberty will be sacrificed, and wealth dissipated.

 

At the end of the 1980s, a transformation had indeed been wrought.  Millions from all classes had’ never had it so good’. Beyond that, Britain was respected in the world for her economic example and her resoluteness in dealing with international problems.

 

This was shown in the Falklands War and by Mrs. Thatcher’s influence on President Mikhail Gorbachev’s attempts to reform the Soviet system.

 

Today, 25 years after she stood on the steps of 10 Downing Street on a sunny Friday afternoon, Mrs. Thatcher’s legacy remains strong.

 

No attempt has been made to undo her union laws. Re-nationalisation of industry was a non-starter. The present Government dares not talk of higher direct taxes .

 

And her deep Euroscepticism, and the cause of her removal from office in 1990, strikes an even louder note with the British People.  For some of us Mrs. Thatcher’s 11 years in power remain a high-watermark of political achievement and strong government.

 

That achievement was down to her personal courage and fortitude; but it was made with the consent of the people fed up with betrayal, and ready to be more radical.

 

We did well to elect her: but she served us better than some people will ever realise, or admit.

We now learn from the Daily Mail COMMENT on Christmas Eve that the Queen's Speech will cover the catastrophic fall in Values and Moral behaviour since the beginning of her 56 -year reign. This has been brought about by the actions of HER MINISTERS and the greater number of those in HER PARLIAMENT who have placed THEIR CONCERNS before the INTERESTS of THE PEOPLE and NATION STATE.

 

 As for the fact that HER PEOPLE feel LOST that has been the direct result of the actions of HER SUCCESSIVE GOVERNMENTS and the TRAITOROUS POLITICIANS including PRIME MINISTERS who have stealthily over the 56 years of HER MAJESTY'S REIGN have almost achieved their aim of ENSLAVING the PEOPLE to a FOREIGN POWER. 

The reason for the marked drop in the number viewing THE QUEEN'S SPEECH is no doubt because the mass of people have realised years ago that the MONARCH is powerless to PROTECT their WAY-OF-LIFE and events up to now have PROVED THEM CORRECT.

  Our intention is not to benefit from this disaster as since the 1999 European Election we have NOT! accepted a DONATION! from ANYONE! and we closed membership also because we did not wish to split the vote for UKIP but have stated in the past that we would contest another election if it was ever necessary to enter into the affray again and with the reputation of UKIP under scrutiny we will keep our options OPEN!   As we mentioned some time ago we have been almost two decades on the campaign trail to free our once FREE INDEPENDENT NATION STATE of ENGLAND from the SATANIC EU and those who have for centuries have planned for an EVIL ONE-WORLD CORPORATION/GOVERNMENT and EXTERMINATE! at least 5 BILLION of the WORLD'S POPULATION and therefore if we are right about those mentioned above they are not only TRAITORS to their COUNTRY but also a THREAT to WORLD PEACE.   However, of late, matters have NOT! been going well for the ILLUMINATI as you will observe BELOW.

 
The Queen, Treason and the Coronation oath

Together with Churchill, King George VI saved our nation; he was a Monarch to be proud of. But his daughter the Queen is the only monarch to have broken all her coronation oaths, by signing these six treaties that abolish our common law, the British Constitution, the British and English nations, and our sovereignty. She has also committed treason, together with co-signatories Ted Heath, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

Realising that under the five Treason Acts they should already be hanging by the neck until dead, Tony Blair and the Queen signed the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998, which secretly abolished much of the crime of treason (s36.3) and reduced the penalty to life imprisonment - they didn't tell the MP's what they had just voted for.

1.4 million British Servicemen gave their lives for our independence. The Queen has thrown their sacrifices away and made them worthless.

At no physical risk to herself, she could have fulfilled her oath and duty as a constitutional check and balance, by refusing to sign the six treaties until an in/out referendum had been held. In the unlikely event the vote went against her, she was even more unlikely to lose her crown (not her life or a limb), and would keep her £9 billion plus palaces either way. Those servicemen's lives would still have meant something.

But she was always keen to sign; and said in advance she would sign the last treaty. Princes Charles, William or Harry can now never be King. You can't have a King without a Kingdom: they can only be princes of a region (principality) within Europe.

King Edward 8th was forced to abdicate because he was too overt as a German Nazi supporter. Mrs Simpson's divorce was merely the excuse. The Royal Family is a German Family - real surname Saxe-Coburg Gotha. Windsor is an adopted surname. All four of Prince Phillip's sisters married high ranking German Nazis. After they lost the war the EU was switched from a Nazi basis to a communist basis.

Between the ages of 12 and 22 Queen Elisabeth's political and constitutional tutor was Sir Henry Martin, a Fabian Communist. It seems clear she was well trained for her subversion and treason.

Because she waves and smiles at us most are fooled into thinking she's lovely; in fact the Queen is a member of the Illuminati, a Bilderberger, head of Freemasonry, is wholly pro the (German) EU, and has abolished this nation with ruthless determination. It is so obvious she cares nothing for Britain or the British.

The Queen's aspirations are not ours; she clearly serves a much darker master; the faith she defends cannot be the one we think it is. King George VI, the one recent monarch not indoctrinated with Nazi or Communist philosophy, must be turning over in his grave.

I ask that the law be enforced, and the Queen be tried for treason before 12 honest people, and not by our corrupt judges. And that the illegal section 36.3 Crime and Disorder Act be declared null and void, so that she can hang by the neck till dead.

The new EU Hitler doesn't have to get elected
Its worth noting that Adolf Hitler first had to get elected, if on a 35% minority vote, and then get his Enabling Act passed. An EU dictator has no such problems. Our EU rulers do not submit themselves for election now. And the Queen has already signed the Enabling Act (Civil Contingencies Act 2004).

The EU's Hitler will have a much easier rise to power, and will have the formerly British and French nuclear weapons from day one. Adolf Hitler killed 54 million people. The EU's dictator could kill a billion at the touch of a button, with no democratic checks and balances to answer to. How could any aspiring dictator resist the EU opportunity?
