even if this
means CHANGING the TRUTH. In film after film, British
troops are shown as incompetent or criminal while
American troops are always given credit for EVERY
SUCCESS. An innocent observer watching modern
American films would assume that only America was
involved in fighting the GERMANS, the JAPANESE and
ITALIANS in the SECOND WORLD WAR.
In a film about the capture of the
German Enigma code machine the Allied cause has been
turned into an American event. In reality the Enigma
code machine was captured by British sailors before
America entered the war [After Germany declared war upon
them after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour. ] In the
film the event involved the Americans.
It is hardly surprising that American
people seriously believe that their involvement in World
War II was crucial and that 'the Europeans should be
grateful to America fior having given them their
freedom'.
Americans commonly claim that the USA won
World War II- and saved England from Nazi rule. THIS IS A
MYTH. The USA did not come to Europe's help in World War II.
During the Second World War, Roosevelt's
response to Churchill's request for help was to agree to
give Britain fifty old and pretty useless destroyers to help
with the war effort. In return, Churchill had to hand over a
ring of valuable British bases. When Churchill asked
for more help the USA demanded all the UK's gold, as much
money as the UK could borrow and insisted that all available
public and private assets be sold. Britain had to buy the
arms supplied by America. The Americans demanded entry to
Britain's export markets and Britain had to hand over
details of numerous British inventions( including the jet
engine). these were goodwill gifts which the USA demanded
not in return for helping Britain in the war against Hitler
(they didn't) but simply to agree to sell arms to Britain.
Roosevelt and the USA did nothing to
help Britain until Germany made the mistake of declaring
war on the USA.
America's post war economic success
was and is built upon the exploitation of Britain during
the earliest war years. THAT IS A FACT which we SHOULD
NEVER FORGET.
If it had been left to the USA Hitler
would have become Supreme Commander of the entire world.
After Pearl Harbour, Churchill was
terrified that the Americans would enter the war but would
concentrate all their war effort on the Pacific.
However, Europe was saved when Hitler
and Mussolini declared war on the USA on December 11th
1941. It was only then that America was forced
into the war. IT WAS RUSSIA led by Stalin, which helped
Britain (not the USA). the Russian army destroyed far
more of the German army than the Americans did.
The American war effort (such as it was)
was littered with strategic and tactical incompetencies,
jealousies and conceits. Britain ended the Second
World War ruined, both industrially and economically.
Britain had massive war debts, devastated cities and an
industry in ruins. She was relegated to the second rank
scientifically and a vast percentage of her brightest,
strongest and toughest young men lie buried in graves
throughout Europe.
IT IS OBSCENE AND AN INSULT TO THE MEMORY
OF THOSE BRITONS WHO DIED IN WORLD WAR II, THAT BRITISH
LEADERS SHOULD NOW CLAIM THAT THE UK HAS A SPECIAL
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE USA BECAUSE OF WORLD WAR II.
