In an
interview with the Financial Times on 13th
January,2009 Conservative Party leader David Cameron
said that if his party were to win a SUMMER GENERAL
ELECTION,
"we could
have a REFERENDUM in OCTOBER-2009"
on the
LISBON
TREATY
Presumably
eurosceptics are meant to get excited about such a
prospect and cease to doubt the CONservative
leader's eurosce[ptic credentials.
IN FACT, as
Mr Cameron would be aware BRITISH GENERAL ELECTIONS
almost never take place in SUMMER. The last
summer election took place in 1945 in the aftermath
of World War II. There have been three GENERAL
ELECTIONS in late spring (1970,1983,and 1987) since
that time. But at the risk of giving hostage
to fortune there is no prospect of a SPRING ELECTION
this year since this would mean that the CAMPAIGN
would coincide with that for the EUROPEAN ELECTION
-the last thing Mr Brown wants. And recent
opinion poll findings are not likely to have changed
his mind.
One
therefore concludes that Mr Cameron raised the
possibility of a SUMMER GENERAL ELECTION precisely
BECAUSE he knows there isn't going TO BE ONE, and
that his mind was on the forthcoming election to the
EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT rather than on a REFERENDUM ON
LISBON.
A recent
survey has shown that around 7% of TORY VOTERS are
likely to DEFECT to the UKIP in the EUROPEAN
ELECTIONS. Cynics are likely to conclude that
when DAVE can't bring himself to be BOLD and TOUGH
he FAKES IT! This stratagem may have a
recognised place in the repertoire of political
ploys, but such is the level of CYNICISM and
SUSPICION among EUROSCEPTICS that its use on THIS
OCCASION is MORE LIKELY to GIVE OFFENCE than WIN
VOTES.

[When David Cameron became leader of the
CONservative
Party we put a statement on our website reminding
him that by doing that which is truly in the
interests of his COUNTRY rather than of PARTY he
might not win the next GENERAL ELECTION but he would
have built up the TRUST of the PEOPLE and would have
been rewarded the PREMIERSHIP as a great STATESMAN.
He preferred to go on in his own way with his no
doubt ingrained EU philosophy deep in his breast
rather than PUT the PEOPLE FIRST.
Unfortunately for the VOTERS there is NO
PR-PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION which would have put
the cat amongst the pidgins. BUT THEN the
GANG OF THREE in WESTMINSTER do not want any other
PARTY sharing their SPOILS of which we have heard a
great deal this month.

RACE FOR PERSONAL GRANDEUR BUT TO EITHER CHANGE THE
EU WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE BUT TO START A REVOLUTION
HERE AT HOME AND IN THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EU.
Of
course UKIP will not be pleased but they had their
opportunity to UNITE the EUROSCEPTICS as ONE and
take the BATTLE to the STREETS-THEY FAILED. As you
will observe in our 1500 bulletins we have given our
FULL SUPPORT to UKIP because they were the larger
party and therefore the natural umbrella
organisation to UNITE under. MEPs have
this week been informed that their salaries will be
paid in EUROS and therefore they will be another
£20,000 'BETTER OFF' A few years ago we
suggested that UKIP MEPs should hand over to a
central
EUROSCEPTIC FUND half of their salary to show that
they are not in it for the
MONEY
but nothing
happened. WE believe that they should accept the
average salary plus expenses and we all know how
much they can make on those. It is all well and good to show the
short-comings of the EU which must be becoming
clearer by the day but what we have called for is a
UNITED EUROECEPTIC MOVEMENT under an UMBRELLA LABEL
to take the FIGHT to the ENEMY. THE WAR IS
LOST at present but we now have because of the IRISH
'NO' VOTE a
SECOND CHANCE-]
