WOUNDED BACK TO BACK WITH TALIBAN.

TROOPS ON SAME WARD
AS TALIBAN.

[Afghanistan is a
different war to a conventional war when
during a battle
enemy soldiers will be found being treated amongst
our own wounded. But to find out of the war zone a
Taliban being treated in the same ward as a Tommy
-and even worse in the next bed must be a greater
traumatic experience than one can envisage after
being wounded in battle.
For the Army chiefs
to defend such arrangements shows how out of touch
they are with the feelings of their troops at such a
time. As to say that it was because it there were
not enough wounded Taliban fighters taken prisoner
and to justify their despicable action to bring in
the matter of cost-separate medical facilities -when
a little thought on the matter could have found a
solution but definitely our troops should not be in
the same ward and certainly either in the next bed.
We have more than a
suspicion that the very arrangements were put into
place to emphasise to the Taliban that we are all
friends and we wont to parley with you. There can be
no other reason why they would be so naive as not to
have realised what gross insensibility they have to
the proper care of THEIR brave troop.
The Army chiefs
have been too laid back when it comes to defending
the right of our troops to have the BEST EQUIPMENT
and THE BEST CARE whatever it takes and not as many
of them have done - complaining when they have
left the SERVICE.
