Implications of EU Citizenship by DEREK BENNETT http://petitions.pm.gov/Optout/ Letter to eurofacts -5th October, 2007
Dear Sir, eurofacts in its article: "UK passport may be changed" (21st September), stressed that this is to "take account of the political fact of European citizenship. I have been concerned about European, or in reality EU , citizenship for quite some time. With citizenship comes a duty to serve your country, as John Kennedy stated:
"Ask not what my country can do for me, ask what I can do for my country." If we are all forced to be EU citizens then it will expect us to have a duty to it. As many of our British treason laws have been repealed and what's left virtually ignored, I can envisage a time when the EU introduces its own laws on treason. This will beg the question; will the editor and every reader of this august publication [eurofacts] be committing treason against the EU by producing and reading eurofacts? It is with such issues in mind that some time ago I personally wrote to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the then Home Secretary and prime Minister to officially renounce European citizenship and requested that from that date I was to be classed as a British subject only. I have since produced a document for others to do likewise which was used on the Freedom Association web-site, and more recently I have launched a petition on the Downing Street web-site calling for the right to allow British subjects to renounce European citizenship thus allowing them to hold British and not European passports. also that as British subjects only, NO EU laws would apply to them. To sign my petition please go to: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Optout DEREK BENNETT West Midlands. *
[From that day -5th October,2007 we did and are still supporting the aim of Mr Bennett which we feel will decide who are with us and those who have decided to wait until others have taken the heat before showing their true feelings and of course there will be many who are dedicated to the European dream which will in time will no doubt give them their deserved nightmares.]
